The Big Bend Farmers and Artisan Market will be every Friday Starting June 24, and will end August 12. Hours are 6pm to 10 pm.

There is an ALPACA Art and Craft show at the Athens Community Center, Dec. 11 & 12. Advertising will be coming soon with exact times and artists etc.

Athens has a great many talented professional artists and craftspersons who need the support of the community and the state. With the commitment of a few strong friends the area will become known as a destination for art and craft.

The alpaca vendors at the recent arts and crafts event at the Dairy Barn were my favorites. The variety of objects and their tactile and visual beauty were astounding.

Hi Kelly, I will be in Mexico during January (someone has to do it) and my first open time will be about mid Feb so lets keep an eye on that time. The College of Business at OU (I am currently the Chair of their Executive Advisory Council) has a world class sales center training facility. (They won 1st and 3rd in this years national sales competition, no one has ever taken two of the top three spots). Getting some of their folks involved in a project would at least provide some new ideas and approaches.) Also in the plan to start this year will be an entrepreneur center modeled along the lines of the sales center. They too will be looking for projects. Then there is also potential for support from the MBAs out of the Voinovich Center for marketing and business plans. They do nice work in researching best practices from other places.

Out of some 240 accredited business schools in the US Ohio University recently was ranked as number 47. They are now looking for ways to break into the top 20 and key to this will be increased involvement of students in real world problems so the timing for this could be very good.

I am looking forward to learning more about ALPACA and doing whatever I can to help connect the group with resources at OU especially in technology, marketing and sales .
