More snow- I posted a video on youtube of my husband plowing our driveway. (
www.youtube.com/burroakoutfitters) My shop has mostly been closed the last 2 months. If it isn't snowing, my daughter has car trouble and can't make it. Not that we've had any real business. Even the kids across the road haven't been coming over. I've dug out the drive here by hand 3- or is it 4?-times this month. This weather has really put me in a bind. With no money coming in, I can't get the things in stock that I'm going to need next month. I thought I found a program that would help with payroll, it is supposed to be a subsidized employment program, but Athens County in their infinite wisdom has decided that the money should go to Hocking College students in the make-work, I mean work-study program. I know a lot of people on this website are affiliated with Hocking College, and that remark might be a bit controversial, but face facts, my tax dollars should be helping me, not beefing up a program that already receives tax money. Right now the bad weather is a big concern, but in another month, if I had help paying an employee- or even 2!- I could be open more hours, selling more product, and paying more taxes. Oh well, when I close down, I won't be paying those taxes for someone else to spend.
